I didn't invent anything. Not a product, not a strategy, nothing. I dropped out of college after one day and copied my way to $30 million. Uple wasn't the first B2B data company. Signaturely, another e signature tool. Cold email, SEO, even my pricing pages. All copied. But here's the twist. I didn't just copy. I copied better. In this video, I'm going to show you exactly how to copy smarter and how to copy your way to your first million dollars. Listen, we've been told this lie that success it starts with originality. that to build something great, you need a billion-dollar idea. That you need to be the next Elon Musk or Steve Jobs. Well, I'm here to tell you that's complete BS. Look around. Facebook copied MySpace. Google wasn't the first search engine. Zoom wasn't the first video tool. You don't need to be first. You need to copy smarter and move faster. I'll never forget reading this book, Predictable Revenue by Aaron Ross. It tells the story of how Salesforce scaled from zero to 100 million ARR all through cold outbound. I had no clue cold email could even work like that. And that book lit a fire. I studied their scripts. I ran AB tests. I obsessed over reply rates. And that's what eventually became the foundation for my cold email engine. And then for Uplead in 2000, I read Cash Flow Quadrant by Robert Kiasaki. The goal was simple. Move from employee to self-employed to business owner and then to investor. And I realized I was stuck. I was self-employed. I was making money. But everything depended on me. That book gave me a new lens. I copied the quadrant framework and decided to build something I could eventually own, not just work inside. Now, let's be clear. Copying isn't stealing. It's not CRLV. Smart copying means you extract the principles, not the pixels. Don't rip off an entire landing page. Ask, why does this call to action work? Why are the testimonials placed here? What's the headline formula? I copied Salesforce's outbound framework, but I applied it to SMB friendly sales. And where Zoom Info hides behind endless demos, I made ours simple and transparent. Signaturely gets millions of visits per year. But I didn't invent the playbook. I just saw what companies like HubSpot and Zapier were doing. They're ranking for things like contracts and templates. So I built a library of e signature templates, NDAs, leases, different business agreements. That traffic became a flywheel, and it's still working today. With Uple, I studied Zoom Info, Discover, and even tools like Clear Bit. I took what worked, but then I added real-time email verification, better UX, and flexible pricing. I wasn't reinventing anything. I was just remixing. By the way, everything I'm talking about right here, I actually documented it all step by step. How I went from nothing to my first million in revenue. The exact emails, the scrappy systems, and the lessons I had to learn along the way. I'll share how to get it at the end of this video, completely free. But let's keep going. Here's the problem. Most people, they copy like amateurs. They copy what's visible. The colors on a landing page, the headline of an ad, the design of a website. But the real leverage is what's invisible. the offer structure, the way a value prop is positioned, the first five seconds of the funnel that decide if someone stays or bounces. Think about Apple for a second. Everyone tried to copy their sleek design. But what really made Apple unstoppable was their invisible stuff, their ecosystem, their positioning, the way every product fed into the next. Or look at sales teams, right? You can copy a competitor's script word for word, but if you miss the structure of their offer or the way they frame the urgency, you'll never get the same results. That's why 99% of people miss it. They're staring at the surface when the leverage is under the hood. So, if I had to start over today, here's exactly how I'd copy my way to my first million dollars in sales. Number one, identify three to five winners in your niche, right? Don't guess. Don't reinvent the wheel. Find the people or the companies that are already crushing it in your space. They've already done the trial and error for you. Number two, funnel hack their entire process, right? From ad to checkout. Click on the ad, join their email list, book the demo, go through their entire purchase flow. Pretend you're their perfect customer and see the experience from start to finish. Number three, screenshot and save everything, right? Build your own swipe file. Keep examples of their landing pages, their emails, the sales scripts. Later, you'll start noticing patterns most people start to miss. Number four, extract the strategy. What do they know that others don't? This is the key. Don't just copy surface level headlines. Ask, why are they framing the problem this way? Why does their call to action come when it does? Why does their pricing page look like that? That's the invisible stuff. Number five, build your own version that's faster, simpler, or cheaper. That's how you take market share. You don't need to out invent them. You just need to execute cleaner and remove friction. If you made it this far in the video, I just wanted to say thank you so much. I really appreciate it. And because you stuck around, I wanted to give you something special. I put everything I wish I knew when I was starting out into one place. How I went from nothing to my first million in revenue. the exact cold emails, the duct tape systems, the mistakes I made, and the lessons I'd never repeat again. It's called the Founders First Million. It's a complete playbook. There's no fluff. It's just the process I use to build Uple from scratch, and it's yours 100% for free. Click the links in the description or DM me the word founder on LinkedIn or Instagram, and I'll send it over. And if you're looking for leads to put in action, that's where Uplead comes in.
