TiDB MCP Server

By thumbsupordown

PingCAP's TiDB MCP server lets an agent work with TiDB databases in natural language, exposing tools for database management, SQL execution and user management so an LLM can pick the right operation and return results conversationally. It is built in Python and works with any MCP-compatible client such as Cursor or Claude Desktop. TiDB itself is a distributed SQL database combining transactional and analytical workloads with native vector search, which is what makes it interesting to point an agent at.
