Luke Scripted

Luke Scripted works on YouTube scripts and says he has studied over 500 hours of top-performing videos to find what their structure has in common. Much of his material is corrective: the animated intro, and the pile of calls to action stacked at the front of a video, both of which he treats as watch-time killers — the second because it hands a first-time viewer decision fatigue before they have been given anything of value.

His positive framework borrows from streaming television. Rather than one call to action, he uses a three-step pattern designed to leave the viewer on a cliffhanger that leads into the next video, so a channel earns several views per viewer instead of one — and, he argues, longer sessions the algorithm then rewards.
