Descript

Descript is a video and podcast editing platform that uses an AI co-editor named Underlord to assist creators. The software allows users to edit by typing, offering tools for correcting spoken errors through text replacement, generating AI music, smoothing jump cuts, and creating social media clips. It integrates with professional editing suites like Premiere Pro, Resolve, and Final Cut Pro for advanced workflows.

The platform focuses on reducing creative burnout by automating repetitive editing tasks while preserving creative control. Recent updates include AI image editing capabilities, smoother jump cut transitions, and automated thumbnail generation for YouTube. Descript states that its tools enable creators to turn a single video into multiple social media posts through automated repurposing workflows.
