Bruno

Open-source, Git-native API client that stores collections as plain-text files in your repository instead of syncing them to a cloud.

About Bruno

Bruno is an API client built on a single decision: collections are plain-text files in your repo, co-located with the code they describe. Everything else follows from it. Branching, diffing, reviewing and merging an API collection uses the workflow a team already runs for its source, with no separate sharing model to learn or administer.

It positions itself explicitly against cloud-locked API platforms — a devtool that works alongside the rest of a stack rather than absorbing it. There is no cloud sync, no account and no login, so request data and credentials never leave the machine.

The file format is OpenCollection, a human-readable and diff-friendly YAML standard, and the client runs in an IDE, a terminal and increasingly inside coding agents.
